Scope and Contents

Part of the responsibilities of the Illinois Prairie Path Corporation Board is to plan and install amenities along the Path. Over the 50 years of the Path, the Board was able to fund, install, and maintain port-a-lets, drinking fountains, benches, display cases, commemorative plaques, parks, prairies, garbage cans, and artwork, making the Path more enjoyable for all of its users. In most instances, the planning, fundraising, purchasing, installation, and maintenance of the amenities were all done by volunteers. These files contain maps, newspaper clippings, correspondence and receipts, and photographs relating to purchasing and installing of amenities.
