Clean-up - Glen Ellyn, 1970-2009
Scope and Contents
In order to engage more people and increase membership among Path users, the Illinois Prairie Path hosted many events. Some of the more high profile events include a Governor's Bike Ride, National Trail celebrations, and an historical treasure hunt. These events were intended as fun and creative ways to bring a crowd on the trail and spread the word about membership. Annual Path Clean-ups which rally many volunteer groups, including Girl and Boy Scout troops, can also be found in this series, as well as records of Anniversary Celebrations. Also included are non-IPP sponsored events, which consists of correspondence between the IPP and fundraising groups that wished to host events on the path. This file includes information on events which were both held as well as those denied (due to costs and/or liability).
