Biographical / Historical
The Naperville Writers Group began as a project of the Literary Arts Committee of the former Naperville Arts Council as an outlet and support for writers in the Naperville and surrounding area. In 1993, the group came under the sponsorship of the Naperville Park District and in 2002 the group became self-sustaining. The NWG has weekly meetings at which individual members can submit their work for critique and discussion, learn from workshops and presentations by members and outside professionals, and learn how to submit for publication in Rivulets, the annual anthology of members’ work. An instrumental founder of this group was Dr. Richard Eastman, professor of English emeritus at North Central College.
