Master Plans, 1977 - 2000
Scope and Contents
This series includes five-year plans, College space allocations, and long-range plans. Five-year plans created by steering committees made up of trustees, faculty, students, alumni, Naperville representatives, and United Methodist Church representatives were completed in 1977 and 1988. These plans explore the use of current college facilities and the need for new facilities due to College growth. Both five-year plans include the philosophy of the College and its goals and objectives. This series also includes two versions of a space allocation plan. Prepared by the firm Facility Design Associate, this plan outlines the physical facilities of the College and estimates costs for future construction and renovation. Both versions of the space allocation plans are similar with the October 16, 1987 report likely being the final product of the project. This series also contains a copy of Vision 2020, a long-range plan for campus created in 1994. The series includes material relating to North Central College’s position on “Element 57,” a plan to connect Chicago and Aurora Avenues proposed by the City of Naperville in 1986.
Starting with 2024, the master land use plan is available in electronic format.
