Development Program-Kick-off Dinner, 1982

This series consists of materials compiled by James (Jim) Doody as Director of the College’s 125th Anniversary celebration in 1986. The 125th Anniversary was celebrated through usual annual events, such as Commencement, Homecoming, and Naperville’s Last Fling Parade, and information on the planning of these events for 1986 is included within the series. In addition to these events, the College planned a unique event for the 125th Anniversary, a Grand Ball, and materials concerning this event are included in this series. Materials related to all of these anniversary events include correspondence, finances, invitations, presentations, and programs. Additionally, James Doody worked on the 125th Anniversary Development Program from 1982 through 1986 which was a fundraising program seeking $15,000,000 for program support, increased endowments, and plant improvement. Also found in this series is the historical sketch created for the 125th Anniversary and a supplement on the College which was featured in the local newspaper, the Naperville Sun. As part of the 125th Anniversary of the College, the Development Office launched a multi-year fundraising campaign. This series also includes three versions of a slide show created as part of the publicity for the 125th Anniversary fundraising campaign of the Development Office. One folder, labeled “general”, includes slides which were either draft version or not used in the final slide show. A final folder contains slides of actual 125th Anniversary events.
