Scope and Contents
This collection contains files of the North Central, Illinois, and National chapters of the American Association of University Professors (AAUP). Files include correspondence, meeting agendas and minutes, membership rosters, and publications. The majority of the correspondence is to North Central AAUP members from national AAUP offices discussing conferences, publications, and membership dues. The publications, separated by title, are newsletters written by the North Central (“Volunteer”), Illinois (“Bulletin”), and National (Newsletter) chapters.

Biographical / Historical
The American Association of University Professors was established at North Central in 1959. The first meeting of the chapter was held in March, 1960 with a focus of achieving a collective climate for faculty opinions and academic interests.
