NCC: Presidential Inaugurations records
Scope and Contents
This collection contains inauguration materials from Presidents Seager, Geiger, Wilde, Hammond, and Thomas. This includes: copies of programs from different inaugural events, guest invitations, informational brochures about the new presidents, promotional materials and occasionally news clippings regarding the event. One file, Harold Wilde-Inauguration Committee File, was compiled by B. Pierre Lebeau and that file includes guest lists and other information pertaining to the planning of the Inauguration. The Troy Hammond-Inauguration Planning Files was compiled by Mary Reynolds. As the Associate Director of Alumni Relations and Coordinator of Major Campus Events in 2013, Reynolds executed the inauguration. These planning files contain: meeting agendas with handwritten notes, timelines and to do lists for inaugural events, attendee lists, and communication with vendors, delegates, and others supporting the events. A separate folder of handwritten notes related to the inauguration planning are from Rick Spencer, Vice President for Institutional Advancement.
Digital materials from the inauguration of President Thomas include video footage of the inauguration events – the President’s Roundtable on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging; the Morning Worship Service; and the Investiture Ceremony. Items created by the NCC Office of Institutional Communication such as PDFs of webpages, social media posts, flyers, and invitations are also present.
Inauguration files from Presidents Rall, Schilling and Swing are not included in this collection, but can be found in their respective collections.
