NCC: Student Government files

Student self-government began at North Central in 1919 with the formation of the Student Council. The Student Council was created in the fall of 1919 by the adoption of an amendment to the student body constitution. In 1965, this organization changed its name to the Student Senate. A new governance structure for the entire college was introduced in 1971, resulting in a new student organization, the Student Association. The Student Association formed part of the College Senate alongside faculty representatives. By 1994, the Student Governing Association consisted of two bodies, the Student Governing Board and the Planning and Finance Board. In 2000, the structure of the SGA changed resulting in a single group with multiple subcommittees of which the Planning and Finance Board is one. A list of Student Council Presidents follows.
