Biographical / Historical
The Public Relations Office was formed in 1960, later becoming the Office of Public Information, then the Office of Marketing and Communication, and then the Office of Communication. As of 2023, this office is known as the Office of Institutional Communication. After its formation, the Public Relations Office became a clearinghouse for and largest campus creator of images, whether in print, slide, audio-visual or digital formats. Usually staff members served as photographers although, professional photographers were also hired for specific purposes.
