Scope and Contents
This collection contains fliers with events and services offered by the Dyson Wellness Center, formerly known as Health Services and the Counseling Center separately. Emergency Care handbooks produced by the Student Health Service are also found in this collection.

Biographical / Historical
In 1922, an article appeared in the student newspaper, The Chronicle, suggesting the need for an infirmary-isolation hospital, and an on-campus health system. An infirmary was built on campus in 1925. A college nurse is first listed in the College Catalog in 1933. In 1949, there was a health office in the basement of Old Main, staffed by a nurse with limited hours offered by local doctors. The College Catalog first mentioned a Counseling Office in 1980. In 1992, the Counseling Center moved from the Student Services Center to 231 S. Ellsworth house. In 1994, the Campus Health Office moved from Old Main to 221 S. Ellsworth. The Health Center and the Counseling Center joined together under the new name the Wellness Center and moved to the second floor of the Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium in 2001. The Wellness was named after Ann Elizabeth, Dyson MD in 2004.
