Scope and Contents

This collection contains Richard Eastman’s course files during his time as professor at North Central, as well as material related to his avocation as a composer. Organized by class title, the course files include syllabi, class handouts, student evaluations, correspondence, and lecture outlines. Student research papers are sometimes included, especially from the English Seminar courses. When a course number was indicated, it is included in the folder title. Material related to Eastman’s musical efforts make up the bulk of the collection, and include a full inventory of his compositions, recordings and sheet music, and correspondence.

Richard Eastman was Professor of English and General Studies from 1946 to 1970 and 1976 to 1982 and the Dean of Faculty from 1970 to 1976.
