101st-102nd Congress, 1989-1992
Scope and Contents
The Congressional Reports were updates (in a newspaper column format) on Congressman Fawell's activities that were sent to every postal patron in the 13th Congressional District. The reports were sent with differing regularity: 99th Congress - 5 issues; 100th Congress - 5 issues; 101st Congress - 4 issues; 102nd Congress - 3 issues; 103rd Congress - 2 issues; 104th Congress - 2 issues; 105th Congress - 0 issues. Often the January issues were summaries of the previous Congress, and were filed with the appropriate Congress, rather than by the year they were sent. The Congressional Reports were sent from the Washington D.C. office, and the articles written by the legislative staff. The reports included photographs and articles about Congressman Fawell's achievements for the time period covered. Some of the topics included legislation and activities sponsored by Congressman Fawell. The reports were generally four pages long. Prior to the 104th Congress, all the Congressional Reports were printed on 11" x 14" newsprint and folded in half for mailing. The 104th Congress Congressional Reports were printed on 8 1/2" x 14" card stock and were folded in thirds for mailing.
