Scope and Contents

This collection contains a very incomplete set of Bulletins from 1913 to 1962. The Bulletins vary widely in content and format through the years, but usually include information on new faculty and new buildings and provide an historical and financial overview of the college. Some Bulletins, however, are devoted to a single subject. For example, the June 1949, June 1950, and June 1951 Bulletins consist entirely of the baccalaureate addresses delivered by President C. Harve Geiger. From 1945 to 1962, the general campus information designed for prospective students is found in the July Bulletins only. From 1994 onward, the Bulletin contains statistics for reported crime on campus, meeting federal requirements for disclosure about campus safety.

Biographical / Historical

The Bulletins were published quarterly from 1913 through 1962 and were intended for prospective students. In 1962, the College replaced the Bulletins by publishing a small supplement to the biennial North Central College Catalog and a separate Annual Report. The Bulletins title was revived around 1994 as an annual newsletter used to distribute information regarding campus safety statistics.

Included within the collection is one folder that contains four Bulletins with no dates. While the series does not contain all four Bulletins published per year, there is usually at least one Bulletin for each year.

Processing Information

The base collection of the College Archives had no inherent order. The Archives created this out of the base collection in 1999. An addition was received from the Office of Marketing and Communications in March 2007.
