Scope and Contents
This collection contains newsletters published by North Central College from 1918 to 2003. These newsletters cover a variety of topics and were created for students, faculty, alumni, and prospective students, as outlined about in the description of this series.
The calendars list upcoming events on campus. The calendars and Happenings both list upcoming events on campus which include athletics, meetings, programs, and activities. This Week includes weekly schedules of campus meetings, athletic events, and activities and often includes campus announcements. Today at North Central lists campus events for a single day including the event title, time, and location.
The Little Informer includes information on class schedule changes, student council notes, student activities and events, music notes, and announcements from college offices and departments. Service Works, published by the Community Service Center, includes information on student organizations and service projects.
The Colleague includes information on staff and faculty members, announcements, articles written by faculty and staff, and events calendar. North Central College Notes, published twice each month, lists staff additions, the college calendar, faculty committees, and short articles about North Central College. School Bells was created by Richard Eastman, Dean of Faculty, and includes schedules for faculty meetings, academic dates, student senate dates, and course planning information.
The Alumni Newsletter and Cardinal Connection are both newsletters designed for alumni. The Cardinal Connection was created for young alumni by a committee of alumni and includes news, alumni events, and alumni news. Liberal Arts Education at North Central College newsletter includes information on campus news, faculty additions, and financial aid from prospective students.

Biographical / Historical
Newsletters are have been published by several different offices including the Admissions Office, Office of the Dean of Faculty, and the Office of Student Activities.
Newsletters published for the purpose of informing students, faculty, and staff of campus events include the calendars, Happenings, This Week, and Today at North Central. Calendars were published by the Office of the Dean of Faculty and the College Union. Happenings were published by the Office of the Dean of Faculty and are similar to the calendar, although in published different years.
Many newsletters were created for students to inform them of campus happenings including The Little Informer and Service Works. Newsletters published for faculty and staff include the Colleague, North Central College Notes, and School Bells. Liberal Arts Education at North Central College (published from 1963 to 1969) was intended for prospective students interested in liberal arts colleges.
