Scope and Contents

This collection contains materials received by the College Archives relating to individual faculty. These files include personal correspondence, programs, news clippings, and obituaries of faculty members. The dates on the folders reflect the dates the enclosed documents were created, which does not necessarily match the subject of the documents.

This collection contains papers dating from 1977-2016 that Francine Navakas deemed of permanent interest to the College. Files include syllabi, correspondence, reports, and research conducted on programs at other universities. These records relate to the various interests and positions Navakas held during her tenure at North Central

Lecture notes, quizzes, tests, and final exams created by Harold White are included in this collection. Papers are separated by class and divided into “Notes and Tests” and “Final Exams”. Many of White’s notes are lecture notes for classes and drafts of tests. Most of the tests and final exams written by White have two versions, either an A/B or odd/even, with two copies of each retained.

Scope and Contents The papers of Lowell Maechtle include records pertaining to Maechtle’s academic, and, to a lesser extent, personal life. These papers cover Maechtle’s undergraduate experience at North Central College, his graduate work at University of Wisconsin-Madison, and his faculty positions in Sociology departments at Indiana Central College, St. Olaf College and finally, North Central. This collection consists of roughly 800-900 color slides taken by biology professor, Terrence Marsh, from 1971-1998. These slides are from IL, NM, AZ, TX, TN, MS, AL, LA, AR, FL, and Honduras. The images consist of maps, landscapes, activities, and students working while on the trip. Professor Marsh has identified the people and subjects on each slide. The slides were organized by Terrence Marsh in metal boxes by each trip and by region of the United States.

This collection contains materials created between 1985-2008 for or by Thomas Sawyer. These materials include plaques and awards Sawyer received, research conducted on the history of the North Central psychology department, a photo album of psychology graduates.

Scope and Contents This collection consists of three journals written by William Huelster from 1880 to 1925. The bulk of these journals is an autobiography written from 1917 to 1925, largely based on translations of his German journals, which covers the period from his birth in 1841 until 1883.
